I’m pretty sure they were going for one of those “person succeeds and becomes a symbol of pride for his/her downtrodded people” (like Cinderella Man, Slumdog Millionaire and my personal Canadian favorite, The Rocket). However, it didn’t work for obvious reasons.

Her mouth may have been odd looking as a child but I don’t see anything wrong with her eyes. She grew into an attractive woman. What’s wrong with you people? Soul sucking orbs? Scary eyes? Drinks your blood? Burned at the stake? Really? Get over yourself!

I’m not sure if I’m the right person for this (I’ve only seen about half of the season seven episodes) but I’d love to see a scene written where, after returning to New York City, Percival tells his friends how happy he is to be back and away from the judgemental and Ingalls-worshipping town that is Walnut Grove. Because you just know that’s what he was thinking-or at least would be thinking in the real world.
